Seth Godin: What is school for?

What is school for? How would you like to learn? What would you like to be taught?

I would like to learn by being interractive or working in groups. I also like to learn by playing games. Those are my two favorite ways to learn. I would like to be taught about the military. I wanna be taught about the military because that is one of my careers for when I grow up. I don't want to sit in class all day and learn about stuff that I will never need to use in the military.

Blog 13:TED BLOG ASSIGNMENT

In this Ted video I watched today in class John Madea talks about art and technology. I agree with him when he said your parents being at your conference is weird. I think it is weird because your parents can see your grades. They also don't need to go because it's your grades and you should't have to be scared when your parents come because you can get scared. I also get very nervous when my parents come to my conferences because I don't know if they will accept my grades. That is what I think of parent teacher conferences.

On Thursday we discussed AUGMENTED REALITY. How is AUGMENTED REALITY being used in the classroom. CLICK HERE FOR EDUDEMIC AUGMENTED REALITY *Editor's Note: This is one of my ALL-TIME favorite websites.

After you've read through the article, list the five AR websites that interest you the most, describing them briefly (You may cut and paste the information from Edudemic):
1.Project glass: Googles AR project allows students to expirence exstreme sporst with glasses!

2.Driver's Ed: Toyota teamed up with Saatchi & Saatchi to deliver the world’s cleanest and safest test-drive via augmented reality. While the method has yet to catch on in the majority of driver’s education classes, it definitely makes for an impressive, effective alternative to keeping and maintaining a fleet of cars.

3.Project Glass: Notoriously, it requires a pair of glasses versus the usual smartphones and laptops, and current experiments involve placing users in first-person extreme athletic experiences, snapping photos, and more.

4.Mentira: Mentira takes place in Albuquerque and fuses fact and fiction, fantasy characters and real people, for the world’s first AR Spanish language learning game.

5.QR Code Scavneger Hunts: Smartphones equipped with a QR code reader make for optimal tools when sending students on scavenger hunts across the classroom or school.

Choose three of the above websites from above and paste their featured links here:
(Name website) (USE LINK BUTTON in BLOG TOOL FEATURE!)
1. Driver's ED
2.Project Glass
3.QR Code Scavenger Hunt

Of the three websites that you choose to feature, which of them do you find the most beneficial to learning in the classroom with AR? Explain why you choose the site you did! (This is a two step question, answer both parts!)

The QR Code Scavenger Hunt because it helps you ifdentify and find what you need to find much easier than it would be if you lost it in your locker or another room or even outside it would help you find it. I chose this site because it looked preety cool at first and it gave alot of information.

Take a screenshot of the AR site that you liked the most and paste it here (ask a classmate if you do not remember how to do this - NETWORK!). Save the picture to your H-drive first, the use the BLOG tool PICTURE to post it.

The last think you'll need to do today is check out this link: HOW MUCH WOOD WOULD A WOOD CHUCK CHUCK IF..

Just kidding. After you've looked at the list of TED TALK lectures, list five that you would be interested in viewing in an upcoming class video/discussion forum.
1.Bahia Shehab: A thousand times no

2.Andrew McAfee: Are droids taking our jobs?
3.Julian Treasure: Why architects need to use their ears
4.Scott Fraser: Why eyewitnesses get it wrong
5.James Stavridis: A Navy Admiral's thoughts on global security
